Just before 2015 wrapped-up, AMC has released the midseason trailer of The Walking Dead featuring the introduction of comic book villain, Negan. In other developments, TWD actress Lauren Cohan has been spotted wearing a new hairdo, sending fans to speculate about her fate on the zombie drama.

“Your property now belongs to Negan,” a new character warned Daryl and co. as they crossed paths in a sequence previewed on the midseason trailer released through Youtube. Negan, as previously reported, will be played by Grey’s Anatomy alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The character has been popularly known among Robert Kirkman’s comic book readers as one of the series’ nefarious Big Bad.

“I’m really f—ing excited. I was familiar. I watched the show, one. But two, I’ve always had a foot in the comic book world. I grew up with my uncle’s comic books at my grandma’s house, so I’ve always loved my comic book reading,” Morgan told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview.

The actor, who currently stars on The Good Wife, related how he nabbed the role of the infamous Negan.

Morgan recalled that his agent and manager told him “The Walking Dead have offered you this thing”. At that time, they didn’t know he was being pitched for the role of Negan. “It was all a big secret”, the actor continued.

Morgan was told that “he’s the new big bad”, and from that point forward he knew the mysterious character they were talking about. Continuing, the actor said: “Absolutely. We’re going to f—ing do it!”

A week later, Morgan began shooting in Atlanta and hanging out with the cast.

In other TWD news, the new pixie cut of Lauren Cohan, who portrays Maggie on the show, got fans on a speculative mood. In the first half of season six, Maggie was learned to be expecting her first child with longtime boyfriend, Glenn.

“So, Lauren Cohan ( Maggie ) has cut her hair pretty short. You guys think this means anything significant for her character on the show?” a Twitter user commented on the actress’ new look.

No word yet from The Walking Dead showrunners whether this new transformation is related to Cohan’s storyline in the back half.
