Four months ahead of its official premiere, HBO has finally released the first teaser of Game of Thrones season six which offers the resurrection of a major character. The cable net also unveiled an image featuring the character of Isaac Hempstead-Wright.
Released earlier this month via Youtube, the brief clip sheds a little bit of hint that previously offed character, Jon Snow, will be returning in the upcoming sixth season. Bran Stark, who didn’t appear in season 5, was featured in the trailer through his voice.
“They have no idea what’s going to happen,” he said.
New cast member Max von Sydow, playing the Three eyed Raven, was also featured in the trailer. No new sequences of the actor were displayed in the clip, only bits from the past episodes.
Details of the trailer were shared by Variety.
HBO also unveiled the first look image of Bran Stark via Entertainment Weekly. Isaac Hempstead-Wright’s mind-controlling character was last seen in the season four finale after he met the Three-Eyed Raven.
The young actor, who now looks more grownup since his last appearance, confirmed his return to the HBO smash earlier this year. “I am back this season and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran … he has some interesting visions,” he told the Irish Examiner.
In other developments, Game of Thrones ranked first in the list of the most-pirated TV show this year. According to Torrent Freak, Thrones’ fifth season finale has been downloaded for an estimated 14.4 million.
Game of Thrones season 6 premieres in April on HBO. The multi-awarded series stars Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, and Peter Dinklage among others. Last season, fans were shocked to learn that Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow was killed through a fatal stabbing.
