Yu Yutopia and HTC One X9 are two of the competitive mid-range smartphones that are currently being eyed by a lot of tech enthusiasts today. Comparing its specs, both handsets surely have its difference and similiraities. The question, however, is which of the two takes a higher spot in terms of specs, features, and price?
Times of India notes that YU is a Cyanogen-powered, online-online sub-brand of Micromax. Recently it has released what it calls the most powerful mid-range phone in the world, Yutopia.
The smartphone gives the best hardware available today and a heavily customizable software package. These qualities make Yutopia a powerful rival to the mid-range powerhouses like Nexus 5X and OnePlus 2.
Phones Review made a keen comparison between the Yutopia and its rival HTC One X9. The YU Yutopia is engineered with a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor (four cores at 2GHz and four at 1.5GHz) and Adreno 430 graphics while the HTC One X9 has a 2.2GHz Helio X10 octa-core processor and PowerVR G6200 GPU.
For the display, the Yutopia features a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 resulting in 565 ppi.. Its rival on the other hand, houses a 5.5-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 and 401 ppi.
There's 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via microSD to 128GB for the YU Yutopia but One X9 only offers 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Hoewever, the device's storage is expandable to 200 GB.
When it comes to camera, the YU Yutopia is armed with a 21-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization, and 4K video capture. It also has an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper. As for the One X9, it sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, OIS, and 4K video, and an Ultrapixel front-facing shooter.
Both of these handsets are powered by a 3000 mAh battery capacity. Similarly, these devices also have support for 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and microUSB 2.0.
The operating system is a major area of difference that could help smartphone enthusiasts choose between the two gadgets. The YU Yutopia runs the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12.1 giving a more customizable experience. On the other hand, the One X9 is said to be running on Android with the company's Sense UI. The version of Android was not specified but it seems to be 6.0 Marshmallow.
The YU Yutopia measures 146.6mm x 72.7mm x 7.2mm and weighs 159g while its rival, HTC One X9, measures 153.9mm x 75.9mm x 8mm and weighs 170g.
As for the price WhaTech reported that the Yu Yutopia is currently available for $24,999 Indian Rupee or $379 USD. This device is only available in Grey color though. The HTC One X9 is expected to be available this month for approximately $369 USD. It will be available in only Black and White.
Both Yu Yutopia and HTC One X9 have its edge among the other, but then it is up for the users which one fits their wants and needs.
