'The Flash' Season 2 Updates: The CW Releases 'Everything Will Change' Promo; Matt Letshcer Returning as Reverse-Flash

By

Three weeks before its midseason premiere, the CW has released a new promo for The Flash featuring some drastic changes ahead for Barry and co. Meanwhile, the hit series has enlisted Matt Letscher to return as Barry’s nemesis in the remaining episodes of season 2.

The new promo of The Flash aptly titled “Everything Will Change” revealed a few interesting bits that fans will be excited about in the back half of season two. The latest sneak peek can now be watched via Youtube.

As cited by TV Line, the brief clip gave a quick glimpse into Caitlyn’s alter ego, Killer Frost. Barry and Iris, meanwhile, are seen attending a “retro costume party” – which according to the publication may be presumed as “a glimpse of their Earth-Two selves”.

Although the Earth Two storyline has been a point of speculations for fans, the showrunners of The Flash has not yet commented as to whether that sequence of Barry and Iris is in fact, Earth Two. Fans have yet to wait and see.

In other developments, it has been learned by Entertainment Weekly that Matt Letscher will be returning to The Flash later this season. The actor, known for his roles in Scandal and The Carrie Diaries, has signed up to reprise his role as Eobard Thawne aka the Reverse-Flash.

In season one, Eobard Thawne killed Barry’s mother before getting stuck in that period. He then absorbed Harrison Wells’ DNA, stole his identity and trained Barry to be a speedster so he could return to his era. But his major plan completely went south when his ancestor, Eddie Thawne killed himself, erasing him from the timeline.

So how could he possibly go back to Barry’s timeline?

“His impossible return to Central City puts a member of the S.T.A.R. Labs team in unexpected danger, forcing Barry to make a life-changing decision,” exec producer Todd Helbing has shared.

Letscher will return in episode 11 this season titled “The Reverse-Flash Returns”.

The Flash season two resumes on Tuesday, Jan. 19th on the CW.
