The CW has released the first trailer for the third season of The 100. In other developments, it has been reported that Eliza Taylor’s Clarke will be getting a new love interest when the new bunch of episodes kicks off in January.
To whet the fans’ appetite for the return of the hit post-apocalyptic series, the CW finally released the first look trailer of the new season. As seen through Youtube, the latest clip alludes that the Sky People will be facing a new war to battle.
According to TV Guide, this upcoming war will find siblings Bellamy and Octavia pitted against each other in a bloody fist fight. Elsewhere, Clarke will return from her isolation after the genocide that took place in Mount Weather – where she will reunite with Bellamy and Lexa. However, Clarke is seems unhappy to see her ex-flame. Viewers have yet to find out why she’s holding Lexa at knifepoint in one sequence previewed.
In other developments, The 100 has plotted a new romantic angle for Clarke in season 3.
Per TV Guide’s casting news, viewers will meet a compassionate, observant and sexy trading post worker who will catch the eye of Clarke. But their new found fling is cut short when the troop from Ice Nation begins to track down Clarke. No word yet from the CW nor the showrunners as to which actress will be playing the aforementioned new character.
Other than a romantic angle, there are more to come for Clarke in the third run. Eliza Taylor has previewed that fans of the show will find her gritty character “in the run”.
“She’s out by herself in the woods trying to come to terms what she’s done,” the actress shared in a report from Entertainment Weekly.
As the trailer hints, it will be another gripping season of The 100. With Clarke reuniting with Lexa and also getting a new love interest, it seems safe to speculate that tensions between the former flame will run high.
The 100 season 3 is slated to premiere on Jan. 21 on the CW.
