The federal government of California agreed to the plan of removing the four hydroelectric dams in the Pacific Northwest. This will be considered a welcoming news for the tribes and farmers that will benefit from the said removal.

Oregon is now facing a $60 million lawsuit regarding two malnourished children. These children in foster care have experienced extreme starvation.

The newly-signed law mandates Oregon's current $9.25 an hour minimum would climb to $14.75 in metro Portland, $13.50 in smaller cities, such as Salem and Eugene, and $12.50 in rural communities until year 2022.
