Several actresses have been associated with the coveted role of Captain Marvel, while the rumor mill suggests that she could be joined by Ant-Man and Doctor Strange in her adventures in the MCU. Director James Gunn also debunked rumors that Captain Marvel might appear in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Volume II.
Avengers: Infinity War, the third film of the franchise, will be the biggest Marvel movie in MCU yet as it will include 68 comic book characters. The movie will be divided into two parts, first of which will be released on May 4, 2018 and the second part on May 3, 2019.
There's been a long outcry for more female-led movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Speculation has it that Hope Van Dyne a.k.a. The Wasp will soon star in her own standalone movie.
