Agape World's former broker, Jason Keryc, was sentenced to nine years in prison and penalty of $179 million as restitution over a Ponzi scheme. The scheme defrauded around 3,800 investors of more than $150 million.
A New Mexico Federal Judge has approved almost $1 billion settlement between the Obama Administration and Native American Tribes. The approval was given five months after the US Interior Department and Tribal leaders confirmed that they have agreed on a $940 million settlement.
Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is eyeing to take legal steps against the former emergency manager of the city and bankruptcy consultants who used outdated mortality tables that left the city with $490 million in pension deficit.
