"NCIS" star Michael Weatherly surprised many fans when he recently revealed his much slimmer and hotter physique.

The actor, who played the character of Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on "NCIS," left the public in awe when he unveiled his transformation during the Nautica Malibu Triathlon last September 14. Weatherly swam, biked and ran a total of 22.5 miles during the sports event, along with 3,000 other participants.

Closer Weekly reported that the 46-year-old celebrity had shared his secret to losing 35 pounds in just four months. "My friend and I have been swimming in the Pacific every weekend [since early May], and I lost 35 pounds!" revealed the actor to the site.

He also spilled that his family and friends have been his inspiration in his goal to lose weight.

"I learned that if you say you're meeting someone at 8 a.m. on a Sunday, you have to show up," said Weatherly. "Hopefully, I'll be able to make my family proud!" the actor said.

Though the star has now been biking and running regularly to stay fit, this may not be the first time for the Weatherly to hit the tracks as he has been a runner for several years. According to E! News, Weatherly revealed that he has been running since he was 30 years old.

"I started running around my 30th birthday," said Weatherly to Details in 2012 as per report by E!

"I wanted to lose weight; I didn't anticipate the serenity. Being in motion, suddenly my body was busy and so my head could work out some issues I had swept under a carpet of wine and cheese. Good therapy, that's a good run. And I like to sweat. It's better than being cold. I like hot countries. I like endorphins. But I don't want to jump out of a plane or take karate or mixed martial arts," revealed the star.
