Fans of the highly-acclaimed CBS series "The Mentalist" is in for an exciting treat as a new season is set to invade the television screens next year.
Contrary to previous reports, "The Mentalist" season 7 is set to air early next year. Enstars reported that this was revealed by actor Tim Kang.
"[The premiere will air] sometime in early 2015. I want to say January, but you never know...," the actor said.
Kang, who plays the role of "Cho," was the one who posted some behind the scene photos on Twitter. One of the photos was captioned "Day one of season 7."
Another photo was attached with a caption that read, "Had to be here at 5 am. I'm sleepy. HA!" making it seem that the production is on a tight schedule.
Breathecast reported that Morena Baccarin is set to make a comeback to reprise her role as Erika Flynn. She will make a guest appearance in the third episode. Erika was the one who manipulated and seduced Patrick Jane, the character played by Simon Baker.
Reports suggest that the premier episode of the upcoming season may revolve around Lisbon's love life. Show writer Jordan Harper recently revealed that the title of the first episode is "Nothing but Blue Skies," giving a hint that it may have something to do with the development of Lisbon's romantic relationship.
Some also say that the next two episodes entitled "The Graybar Hotel" and "Orange Blossom Ice Cream" will reveal details about a date.
Unfortunately for viewers, the seventh season may be the last season of "The Mentalist."
"It is not official but we are all working under the very strong assumption that this is the last season," revealed Harper
Meanwhile, series creator Bruno Heller described the upcoming season as an "encore season."
"The purpose of an encore is to get people leaving the theater happy and giving them what they want and hitting your marks as strong as possible, so that will be the intention," Heller told The Hollywood Reporter.
