"NYPD Blue" alumna Charlotte Ross has recently landed a significant role on the upcoming third season of CW's action series "Arrow" as the mother of Felicity Smoak, Christian Post reported.
Citing reports from the recently concluded Comic-Con, TV Guide revealed that 46-year-old actress will be appearing in an episode of "Arrow" sometime in November. The third installment of the action-drama series will feature the history of Felicity, which will also include her MIT days. However, it was not confirmed whether the actress will be featured in a flashback or current timeline.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim also hinted that Season 3 will delve into the identities of the main characters including Oliver (Stephen Amell), Thea (Willa Holland), John Diggle (David Ramsey), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), and Laurel (Katie Cassidy), told Mstars News.
"The third season will explore themes of identity, but that won't just apply to Oliver and his struggle between being a man and being a hero," said Guggenheim.
Meanwhile, "90210" star JR Ramirez also recently joined the all-star cast of the series as Ted Grant, popularly known for its alter ego named Wildcat, told Screenrant. Originally a Justice Society member and the trainer of masked vigilantes in the DC Comics, Wildcat will be introduced as a retired boxer with an intriguing past in "Arrow's" third season.
Casting for the new season is still in progress, as new characters will debut in the upcoming return of the series, Screenrant noted in another report. Two new faces will be seen in Sterling City as "Arrow" is set to make its comeback.
The outlet reported that one of the characters will be named Daniel, a young entrepreneur who possibly be Oliver's rival with Felicity. The other character will be called Seth, a skilful criminal who makes the most out of his knowledge in Chemistry to fight against his adversaries.
"Arrow" Season 3 will once again hit the airwaves on Oct. 8th at 8/7c exclusively on The CW.
