Newly dating couple Ian Somerholder and Nikki Reed took their relationship to another level, as they decided to adopt a pet horse which they both call their "big baby boy."
Despite remaining tight-lipped about their relationship, it seems that the celebrity sweethearts are not hesitant to reveal hints about the developments of their love story through social media. "Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerholder recently posted a photo, taken by girlfriend Nikki Reed herself, on his Instagram account showing him hugging their new horse named Eagle.
"Proud new dad... What amazing creatures they are. Wow. His name is Eagle. Thank you @iamnikkireed for snapping this special moment, with our big baby boy," captioned the 35-year-old heartthrob.
According to Daily Mail Online, the couple's mutual decision to own a horse can be interpreted as a "bold statement" that tells the public that they are now ready to take big steps together. The website also noted that love is evident in Somerholder's eyes as he cuddles their newly adopted "baby." The "Twilight" actress has been fascinated in equestrian after being part of the indie drama "The Sunday Horse."
Already friends for many years, Somerholder and Reed took their relationship a notch higher just recently, told Hollywood Life. Just last month, the budding lovers went public after being spotted jogging together around Los Angeles, while showing some PDA moments.
Meanwhile, the website revealed in a previous report that Reed is head-over-heels in love with Somerholder. A source told that the pair could not stand a moment apart, as they spend most of their available time together.
"Nikki is a major romantic and when she falls in love she falls hard," an insider told Hollywood Life. "She's already saying that she's in love with Ian, they spend all their free time together and they're even talking about adopting a rescue dog together."
Citing reports from the recently concluded Com-Con, the outlet also told that the vampire actor opened up about his plans of marrying saying, "I will be. I will be." Somerholder immediately took it back and said "No, I mean eventually."
