Following the blockbuster hit of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," talks of another sequel is making rounds in the news mill.
According to K Drama Stars, new reports suggest that screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are already developing a possible story for "Captain America 3."
"We've definitely set out on a more realistic road in the Cap movies, you know. Even more grounded than in the other MCU movies. And so it kind of rules out Cap fighting the Dinosaur Man or something like that. There are some that aren't gonna start and other ones that - I mean there's a couple we're playing with right now that we really want to take elements from. Which we'll not reveal... All I'm saying is psychotic 1950s Cap," said Markus in an interview with Den of Geek, the site reported.
For comic fans, this would mean that another character may take the identity of Captain America after the reported death of Steve Rogers.
According to Enstarz, this may be the case as "Captain America" star Chris Evans has openly talked about taking a stepback from acting after he finishes his contract with Marvel which totals to six films. The actor currently has done three films and the last three are presumed to be "Avengers 2," "Captain America 3" and "Avengers 3."
On other news, Marvel showed a teaser during the Comic-Con 2014 that revealed a lot of hints for their upcoming movie "Avengers 2: Age of Ultron."
One particular scene caught the attention of many. This is the footage that showed the vibranium shield of Captain America broken and shattered to pieces.
This gave an impression that the Avenger may die in the film. However, the presence of Scarlet Witch may be a sign of a different course of events given her powers to change and fix what happens. Captain America may possibly die, but will be revived in the film.
As it is, the superhero may be seen again for another sequel of "Avengers" and "Captain America" but may die eventually in either of the two films.
"Captain America 3" is scheduled to hit theaters on May 16, 2016.
