James Franco claims to be 'happy' about Zac Efron 'love affair' with brother Dave; shares fake news article screenshot

By

James Franco has once again shaken the entire Internet universe.

The "127 Hours" star recently posted a hilarious screen capture of a made-up article from entertainment gossip site HollywoodLife. In the said article, it announced the supposed relationship between his brother, Dave Franco and "Neighbors" co-actor Zac Efron. The screenshot of the magazine also provided a couple of photos of Dave cozying up with Zac, KPopstarz reported

While it is safe to assume that majority of the people in the Internet take reports like this seriously, there are, fortunately some who would not be actually convinced of the report. To be safe, we will leave a disclaimer: Efron and the younger Franco are not truly dating.

The 36-year-old actor poked fun at both Zac and Dave and added a caption to the image, which read, "Effron and My brother, dating!!!!!! Congrats, boys! I'm so happy for you!!!"

The screen capture may appear to be real. However, E! Online said that if one takes a closer look into the details of the Instagram snap, you will be able to see that the article is different in a lot of ways to the original, which can be found here. One would also notice that the author of the doctored headline story is a writer named "Dave Francock." The name has an accompanying thumbnail photo tha bears a resemblance of James Franco.

The digitally engineered picture was actually inspired by the story of Zac Efron dating his "Neighbors" co-star Halston Sage, which went viral back in April.

On the other hand, it remains unclear as to whether the "Of Mice and Men" star is the actual person behind this prank on Zac and Dave. E! Online noted however that it might have been a person posing as James Franco. It turned out that there is an actual Instagram account named "Dave Francock," and that the said account in the photo sharing website also posted a myriad of David Franco edited photos, which included the latest image. "Dave Francock" had shared the image with a different caption instead, which read, "SURPRISE! !! #davefranco #zacefron #hollywoodlife #mannip."

Would it be possible that the "Dave Francock" account is the actor's secret social media account? Or is an overly obsessed Franco-fan who happened to have excellent photo editing skills behind the account? Be it Franco or just a fan, it has already created a huge buzz on the Internet. One would have to wait and find out about that sooner or later.
