The finale of "24: Live Another Day," along with its menacing silent clock, will definitely be emblazoned in the minds of the fans all over the world. As the first season of the TV series comes to its conclusion, director and producer Jon Cassar revealed his plans about the possible return of Jack Bauer for "Live Another Day" Season 2 or the tenth season of the entire "24" franchise. Fox Networks Group Chairman and CEO Peter Rice also hinted on a possible season 2 renewal of "24: Live Another Day."

The silent clock, which was used to signal surrender, death, sadness, and the like all throughout the series, marked the season finale of "24: Live Another Day." The clock's use during the end of Day 9 hurls a big question to which Fox is still uncertain - what will be the future of the show?

Director Jon Cassar compares his dilemma to someone who is serving two masters at the same time. Cassar shared that he, along with the production team of the series, is still baffled whether they are completely sure that what they have shown is truly the end of the series, or they will still open doors for a possibility of another season.

"What does that silent clock mean at the end? I don't know if we know that yet," Jon Cassar said in an interview with Yahoo TV. "There were so many conversations about what the end should be. And not that we're 100 percent sure that this is the end, yet, the absolute end, but there is a possibility, so you're trying to serve both masters. You're trying to serve, if this is the end, is this the way we want it to end? And you're trying to serve, if it's not the end, what do we do to keep it open?

Meanwhile, Fox CEO Peter Rice, who is a self-professed fan of the show, told the press during the 2014 TCA Press Tour that he was definitely thrilled for the recent comeback of "24" through "Live Another Day," also saying that it "was fantastic." On the other hand, he also revealed that the network heads has yet to discuss about the comeback of the franchise for its season second season.

Show-runner Manny Coto is also open to the idea of having a second season for "24: Live Another Day" He shared that what he and producer Jon Cassar need is a notable storyline.

"All it really takes is a story that fires us up. That's what got us excited about doing this season," said Coto during an interview with THR. "I think what would draw us back if that were ever to happen - and that's definitely up in the air - would be we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack, on Jack's character, and where he is, which would suggest a great season."
