On Sunday night, the entertainment industry, especially members of Destiny's Child were shocked to learn that a former member was found hysterical and appeared to have been drugged after she was picked up by police at a stranger's front yard. TMZ reported that ahead of the arrest, Farrah Franklin, who had joined Beyonce Knowles and Kelly Rowland alongside Michelle Williams during pre-"Survivor" days, had made a 911 call.
In the call recording, the singer was reportedly heard screaming as NFL player NFL player Da'Quan Bowers, who had been partying with Franklin that day, told the emergency operator that the star was intoxicated.
Police have arrived to an apparently confused Franklin outside the house and had been told off by the singer that she had wanted to sleep in the woods as she has nowhere else to go.
According to police, Bowers confided to them that he flown out Franklin to Myrtle Beach and proceeded to go out Saturday for cocktails "day and night." After returning to football player Ricky Sapp's residence, who is also a member of Bowers' party, Franklin already exhibited signs of intoxication. Both Bowers and Sapp alo told police that they believed that Franklin had been doing drugs as she had been visiting the bathroom and stayed there for long periods of time, Daily Mail reported.
TMZ said that Franklin left Sapp's place on her own after hanging out with the athletes, which led to the players calling for police assistance. Franklin has since denied taking drugs. She was later taken into the the Horry County Detention Center in Conway in the wee hours of the morning and has been subsequently charged with disorderly conduct. Franklin has since been released on bond.
Daily Mail said that this was not the first time Franklin was arrested for the same charge. In 2011, she was also arrested in Los Angeles, and that alcohol was involved in the incident.
Since the incident on Sunday, Franklin has posted a motivational quote on Instagram, which read, "Unbothered and staying prayed up and, away from any negativity. #StillStanding #GodsChild The sad thing is people live for drama but run from the truth. There's always 3 sides to a story your side, my side and the truth! But the truth is normally not as interesting as a lie, lol."
