Huawei P9 Friendship Edition Symbolize China, Russia Relationship

A new luxury phone was made thanks to the collaboration of Huawei and Russia-based Caviar, a luxury phone manufacturer. The Huawei P9 Friendship Edition symbolize the good relationship between China and Russia.

The smartphone was announced in separate variants - for China and Russia. There are only 88 units of Huawei P9 Friendship Edition made, making it a very limited edition. The number 88 is lucky in Chinese culture. The basic difference between the two variants are the back cover designs, Android Headlines reports.

The Russian version of Huawei P9 Friendship Edition comes with a golden frame with patterns and ornament design traditional to the Russian architecture. It has a relief coat of arms of the Russian Federation at the back, and a tablet with lines from the national anthem. There is also an alligator leather added to the design.

As for the China version of Huawei P9 Friendship Edition, is similar only with a different image at the back. It has a decorative pattern framing that symbolize wealth and wisdom in the Chinese culture. The country's state Arms symbol is made of gold and granite, having words from the Chinese anthem.

Since both devices are Huawei P9 Friendship Edition only with a difference in outer appearance, the specifications are just the same. Both devices has 5.2-inch FHD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. The device will run using Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor and out-of-the-box Android Marshmallow with pre-installed EMUI 4.1, Nashville reports. A possible update to Nougat may come soon.

Both variants of the Huawei P9 Friendship Edition is on sale via Caviar's website. Each device is priced at $2,680. These smartphones define the equally powerful and idealistic thinking of both countries represented through the designs, and it also show the unifying bond between two powerful nations even through a simple device.
