HTC 11' News And Update: Screenshot Teases Snapdragon 835 SoC, Nougat 7.12 & 6GB RAM Included?

By

The Taiwan-based smartphone manufacturer will release a handful of devices this year, including one flagship device in the form of HTC 11. The "About Phone" screen shot that leaked gives us a glimpse of what to expect from the device.

According to GSMArena, the screenshot was posted on Weibo, a social networking site in China, and it shows that the HTC 11 will pack a set of powerful features. Inclusive are the Snapdragon 835, an out-of-the-box Nougat 7.12 and a 6GB RAM.

However, an odd spec that can be seen on the screenshot is the 1556 x 2550 display. The closest resolution that actually exists in the market is the 1440 x 2560 QHD display. But since it is just a leaked photo on a social media website, no one can tell if the display is actually what is there or not.

The inclusion of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 is a strategic move as incoming flagship devices from competitors like Samsung and LG are expected to be using the smallest yet most efficient chipset from Qualcomm. This will allow HTC 11 to use the extra space for other additional specs and features.

HTC 11 will come running in Android Nougat and a Sense 9 interface. Its whopping 6GB internal memory will be coupled with a 128GB internal storage - 112GB available for the user, TechRadar reports.

Other features that we can expect from HTC 11 are fingerprint scanner (or could be an iris scanner), an IP68 certification which is becoming a norm for flagship devices, advanced camera features possibly a 16MP rear and 8MP front with autofocus and phase detection, dual LTE standby, OLED display, a 4100 mAh battery (or higher) and an all-metal unibody built.

Any of the specs mentioned are not confirmed by HTC, however it's quite reassuring that the company is aiming to launch 6-7 smartphones this year having HTC 11 as a powerful high-end device. This widens out the choices for top-grade smartphones alongside LG G6, Samsung S8, and IPhone 8.
