Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice provided the first taste of action DC style through its three most popular superheroes. However, the DCEU is expected to widen further in the upcoming Justice League Part 1. Cast members for the film took to Instagram to share a sneak peek at their intense workout regimen, while the rumor mill is also hard at work about whether or not the Watchtower will also be featured in the film.
The producers for the DCEU spoke during the recent CinemaCon to talk about their upcoming films. As reported by Screen Rant, the speakers highlighted the positive aspects of the Batman v Superman and highlighted how all stories in the DCEU are interconnected and featured in the upcoming Justice League.
The CinemaCon event also confirmed Superman's return in the DCEU despite his character's tragic ending in Batman V Superman is definitely set to return. According to Cinemablend, Cavill's return was confirmed through a video that showed director Zack Snyder as he thanked the supporters of Batman v Superman. He was surrounded by some of the Justice League cast members Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Gal Gadot, and Henry Cavill.
Although Superman's return is really not much of a surprise, Henry Cavill has also been less than secretive in his social media about his return as he posted a photo of himself while working out. "1st week of training done. 7 days, 9 workouts and a whole lot of food! #Superman #JusticeLeague #SupermanTraining @gritandteeth".
Ray Fisher, who will play the role of Cyborg, also posted a photo of himself lifting weights while wearing a "BORG LIFE" shirt. "This is what you'll feel like after watching Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice! #BORGLIFE #Batman #Superman #WonderWoman #batmanvsuperman #JusticeLeague" Fisher wrote in the caption.
However, it was Jason Momoa's post that became controversial after he mentioned the Watchtower. Momoa's Instagram post showed a short video of himself as he performed his arm workout. "Coach @wfmft getting ready for the castle. Watchtower," he wrote.
As reported by ComicBook, Momoa's post could be a hint that the film would follow the version of Justice League that used the Watchtower as their headquarters. The Watchtower is one of the two primary headquarters of the League and was featured in Grant Morrison's run in the comics version of the group. However it is important to take such rumors with a grain of salt until an official announcement is released.
Batman v Superman helmer Zack Snyder is set to return to the director's chair for the upcoming Justice League Part One. Its screenplay is written by Chris Terrio, and is currently slated to hit theaters on November 17, 2017.
