Fifty Shades Darker has recently added another name to its roster of cast members as Hannibal actor Hugh Dancy has officially jumped on board. A new set photo was also captured hinting a wedding between Christian and Ana.
As reported by The Times of India, Hugh Dancy has been casted as Christian Grey's doctor John Flynn, who will help Christian cope with the return of the former love. The sequel will feature Anastasia as she gets a new job and deal with the return of Mrs. Elena Lincoln or "Mrs. Robinson" into the life of Christian Grey.
Moreover, it is also rumored to feature a wedding as Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele was photographed wearing a ring while holding her new phone. According to Melty, the photo was released by the Twitter fan account, Fifty Shades Darker.
In the books, Christian's former submissive Leila Williams attempts to shake things up between Anastasia and Christian by harassing her, which causes him to impulsively propose to Anastasia in order to keep him from leaving. It is unknown up to which extent the movie is adapting from its original source, but the ring on Anastasia's finger hints the inclusion of the Leila Williams story arc.
Filming for the sequel began in February and is still underway. However, it does not seem to be too friendly for Johnson and male lead, Jamie Dornan, as rumors about chemistry issues between the two are still on going.
According to Inquisitr, such speculations were previously addressed by Dornan noting that they got their roles because they have chemistry on screen. "They wouldn't have shot the film with us if there was a lackluster chemistry problem... whatever chemistry means," he said. "You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get a part like this, and they simply wouldn't have cast us."
Fellow cast member Bella Heathcote also defended both leads saying that they are lovely, welcoming, and hilarious. She also mentioned having a good vibe on set while filming.
Fifty Shades Darker is based on the second book by E.L. James in the Fifty Shades franchise. The film is directed by James Foley from screenplay written by Niall Leonard. It is currently slated to hit theaters on February 10, 2017.
