According to International Business Times, the film is rumored to go for an R Rating like The Wolverine. It is also plausible following the box office success of Deadpool which became the highest grossing Rated R X-Men movie.

"I've read that one yeah, of course, I've read pretty much all of them over the years. But I have read that, yeah, but I cannot confirm or deny. It would be no fun if you knew what it was all about." Jackman said. Old Man Logan storyline centers on Logan who returns to his identity as Wolverine after the enemies of the Marvel Universe killed its heroes.

James Mangold is set to return to the director's chair for the anticipated Wolverine 3. It is based on screenplay by Michael Green and David James Kelly. The film is currently slated to hit theaters on March 03, 2017.
