'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' is an upcoming action-horror film starring Milla Jovovich in the lead role. Eoin Macken opened up about working with Jovovich and praised her for being "awesome". Meanwhile, the franchise will reportedly branch out into a musical stage production in Japan.
According to an article on Goss, Macken admitted that he had a hard time keeping up with co-star Milla Jovovich during filming of the sixth and final installment in the 'Resident Evil' cinematic series. He said, "The movie is very fast paced and it's very gritty. I get a lot of action scenes, I've a lot of scenes in it with Ali Larter and Milla... I struggled to keep up with her sometimes."
Despite the struggles, he still had nothing but praises for the franchise's leading lady. He added, "Milla is awesome, she has a wicked sense of humour."
Macken also recalled some embarrassing moments on set including one where he forgot all his lines. According to Independent, he was left speechless when he turned up on-set unprepared.
He said, "We were filming a few months ago and I didn't even realise I had lines in the scene we were doing... So I rocked up thinking I was in the background of the scene. We stood there for a read through and Mila said something but everyone went silent... Everyone was looking at me, and then Paul [W.S. Anderson] the director was like, 'it's your line'."
The 33-year old actor is set to play a character named Doc in the upcoming film. He is best known for his work as a model on several international brands such as Abercrombie and Fitch and Ralph Lauren and has appeared on the television series 'Merlin' and 'The Night Shift'. He also directed several full-feature films such as 'Cold', 'The Inside' and 'Dreaming for You'.
Jovovich will be reprising her role as the lead protagonist Alice, a former Umbrella Corporation employee under the Security Division. She is joined by Larter, Ruby Rose, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, William Levy and Joon Gi-Lee.
The upcoming film will be the final installment in the long-running science-fiction horror series based loosely on the Capcom video games of the same name. It will follow the events set in motion by the 2012 release 'Resident Evil: Retribution'.
Meanwhile, a musical production based on the games is also in the works. According to Playbill, the planned show will open in cities across Japan specifically in Tokyo and Osaka sometime in September and October 2016. It will be directed by Hiroyuki Kobayashi and star Reon Yuzuki in the lead role.
