Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ on T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T are expected to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update following Sprint and US Cellular's move. In the wake of software update releases in the past weeks and months, Samsung is one of the device manufacturers at peak in fulfilling its promises.
Despite being relatively silent about the Marshmallow update release on Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ units under the biggest mobile operators in the United States, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T seemed to be throwing out a big surprise as the month of March ends. With US Cellular and Sprint just rolled out recently the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on their versions of the phone, strong rivals are slated for a counter move to keep up with the stiff race in software updates.
T-Mobile
Among the three carriers, T-Mobile is one with more details on the software status of Galaxy S6 edge+. In its Marsh track list, the device is still stuck unfortunately in the carrier's manufacturer development pipeline.
Of the 18 devices on said list, eight of them had already been updated to Marshmallow to include LG G4 and G Stylo, HTC One M9 and One M8, and the Google Nexuses family. Three devices are in the testing phase, while other four remain in manufacturer development along with Galaxy S6 edge+.
There are no clear release date for these devices until now.
Verizon
Verizon Wireless, considered the biggest mobile operator in the US, closely follows Sprint in the Marshmallow race. The network was able to release already Marshmallow upgrade on around 15 devices. Galaxy S6 edge+ is unfortunately not one of them. Verizon remains mum about its plans for the device. However, it is safe to assume that Marshmallow will indeed be coming following a spate of upgrades on its other Samsung devices like Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S7 edge, and Galaxy S7.
AT&T
AT&T has not released Marshmallow upgrade to any Samsung device yet. Although there are no concrete details as to when exactly this carrier plans to release Marshmallow on Galaxy S6 edge+, it can be expected this month as well per previous reports.
