Animal-injuries and other related accidents happen more often than not in film sets despite the "no animals were harmed" notice in the credits. For example, a number animals were killed during production of some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters including Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey', where 27 animals such as sheep and goats died from exhaustion, drowning or dehydration. Ang Lee's 'Life of Pi' almost drowned a Bengal tiger during one scene in addition to the numerous alleged abuses on set.

The film will also reportedly boast "the largest explosion in Iceland". F. Gary Gray of 'Straight Outta Compton' fame is helming the eighth film in Universal Pictures' long-running action franchise centered on illegal street racing and heists.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel will be reprising their roles as main protagonists Luke Hobbs and Dominic Toretto. Michelle Rodriguez is also returning to play Letty Ortiz, Diesel's on-screen love interest. It was previously rumored that Eva Mendes will reprise her role as Monica Fuentes from '2 Fast 2 Furious' but no confirmation has been made as of the present.
Meanwhile, 'Fast and Furious 8' gets a running title of 'Fast 8'. According to Deadline, Diesel announced the running title through his Instagram page where he posted the film's first official poster. Although no specific plot details have been announced as of the present, the film is set to take place in New York City. The upcoming film will be the first in the franchise that doesn't star late actor Paul Walker.
