'The Justice League' is an upcoming two-part action-adventure film based on the DC comic book superhero team-up of the same name. Amber Heard officially joins the new cast as Jason Momoa's on-screen love interest, Mera. She revealed that her costume is interesting as it is "half armor and half scales".

According to Cosmic Book News, Heard confirmed her involvement in Zack Snyder's upcoming 'Justice League' films as Aquaman's love interest and eventual Queen of Atlantis Mera. The 29-year old Hollywood bombshell is also confirmed to star alongside Jason Momoa in his standalone film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) as Aquaman, the King of the Seven Seas.

Heard's first breakthrough roles include Jeff Wadlow's martial arts film 'Never Back Down' as well as David Gordon Green's stoner comedy 'Pineapple Express'. She also appeared in 'Drive Angry', 'The Ward' and 'The Rum Diary', where she met her future husband Johnny Depp. Heard went on to work in 'Magic Mike XXL', 'The Adderall Diaries' and 'London Fields'.

According to another article by Coming Soon, the actress revealed that she already had a fitting for her costume as Mera. She said, "It's interesting. It's like, half suit of armor, half scales. It's strange... We're in the process of building it now, so it's coming along."

Mera was first introduced in 'Aquaman #11' and was created by Jack Miller and Nick Cardy. In the DC comic books, she Aquaman's wife and is known as Queen of Atlantis. Mera and Aquaman had a son, Arthur Curry Jr., who was later killed by Black Manta. In effect, Mera suffers mental instability following the death of her son.

Heard's character has powers of dimensional travel, amphibious underwater sustenance, hydrokinesis, telepathy and superhuman strength and endurance. She is also skilled with advanced hand-to-hand combat and has an alien physiology.

According to Batman News, 'Justice League' Part One will begin principal photography sometime in April. It is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on November 17, 2017. Heard joins an ensemble cast that includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The superhero film is based on the DC comic book team of the same name and will be the fifth installment in the DCEU.

'Justice League' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film directed by Zack Snyder, who returns to helm the film after 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'. It is based on a screenplay prepared by Chris Terrio and is produced by George Miller, Dan Lin, Doug Mitchell, Barrie M. Osborne, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder. Wesley Coller and Geoff Johns serve as executive producers.
