While LG Electronics is focusing on high-end devices, the company is also giving attention to mid-range handsets like the LG K5 and LG K8 which were announced recently.
According to International Business Times, the South Korean consumer electronics major, LG, has released two new K series smartphones in Seoul yesterday, March 15. During the launch, Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications, stated "We are aware of the diverse needs and wants of our customers around the world and our goal is to deliver the best products to meet their expectations." He also added that the K8 and K5 will be fantastic choices for anyone who is looking for a smartphone with great looks, at a great price.
When it comes with the specs and features, NDTV Gadgets noted that the LG K5 sports a 5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) display, a 1.3GHz quad-core processor that is clubbed with 1GB of RAM, an 8GB of built-in storage and an expandable storage support via microSD card. It is equipped with 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing snapper.
The LG K5 is running on Android 5.1 Lollipop and it is powered by a 1900mAh removable battery. It measures 145x71.6x8.9mm and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Bluetooth 4.1, and Micro-USB. It is available in Gold, Silver, and Titan variety of colors.
For the LG K8, Tech Times stated that this device boasts a premium design with its smooth and curved edges brought by the handset's 2.5D Arc Glass feature. Users can instantly enjoy the K8's comfortable and secure grip because of its back cover made of woven material.
The notable key features of the LG K8 include a 5-inch HD display with In-cell Touch, a 1.3GHz Quad-Core chipset, 2,125 mAh removable battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and RAM of 1.5 GB (for Europe and North America) and 1 GB (for Latin America).
The South Korean tech company said the K8 will have an 8 GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 32 GB through microSD. It is also equipped with an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. This handset will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and have support for 4G LTE, NFC and Micro-USB. The LG K8 is available in Gold, White and Indigo variety of colors.
The LG K5 and LG K8 will be landing in key markets this week. Both of these devices will be available in regions in CIS and Latin America. The K8 will also hit the stores in Asia, Africa and the Middle East while the K5 will cater to consumers in Europe.
