LG Electronics have been eagerly working with the delivery of the Android 6.0 and 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware update to its handsets. The LG G5, in particular, was already running on v6.0.1 Marshmallow as it came out of the box while LG V10, LG G4, LG Nexus 5X, LG G Flex 2, LG G3 and LG G2 are slated to receive the Marshmallow software.
According to a previous report, the LG V10 handsets in Turkey has received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The firmware arrived with the build number MRA58K, software version V20b, and weighed in at a hefty 800MB. The software will upgrade the V10 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which isn't quite the latest as the 6.0.1 version has now been released.
For the LG G4, International Business Times stated that the users of this handset that were subscribed under Sprint had received the Android 6.0 in December 2015. In January, the software was made available to US Cellular LG G4. Meanwhile, the international variants of the LG G4 as well as the U.S. carriers like AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile had obtained the Marshmallow OS last month.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow for LG G Stylo users on Sprint has been released December last year. Meanwhile, the LG G Stylo owners on T-Mobile are currently receiving the latest Android version.
It can be remembered that the LG G Flex 2 was unveiled at the start of 2015 featuring specs that somewhat belong to flagship handsets. Nonetheless, users of this smartphone are yet to receive Android 6.0 upgrade though there is no specific schedule yet.
As for the LG G3 handsets, Verizon is the only U.S. carrier that has released Android 6.0 for this device. Its international variants are anticipated to receive the 6.0 upgrade this month.
LG G2, on the other hand, was found benchmarked on Geekbench and interestingly, this smartphone was found running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Nevertheless, there is no official confirmation yet as to when the South Korean will be releasing the latest Android build to LG G2 users.
As noted by Yibada, some of the notable features of Android 6.0 M include Android Pay, Adoptive Storage, Now on Tap and System UI Tuner.
Meanwhile, the LG Nexus 5X and LG G5 are the only devices that are running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. The Android 6.0.1 is a gradual update that includes 200+ emojis and minor tweaks for enhanced performance.
Users of the above mentioned devices could check the firmware update maually by going to Settings menu then System Update.
