The Dell XPS 13 laptop is now more affordable as Microsoft has given a generous discount to the laptop in celebration of the Pi Day. For just one day, the company is offering a 31.4 percent discount on the entry-level Core i5 model, reducing its starting price to just $685.31.
According to Ubergizmo, Microsoft also gave discounts to some other products on its online store. But the Core i5 processor and non-touch display variant of the XPS 13 is the only machine that gets a full 31.4 percent discount.
Inferse added that the 31.4 percent discount for Dell XPS 13 makes for a substantial drop from the regular price of $999. As for the specs, this device is engineered with a Core i5 Skylake chip mated to an 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB SSD. The notebook also has a gorgeous 13.3-inch FullHD (1080p) display.
Other devices that received discounts include the Inspiron 13 and the Inspiron 15 laptops, which are also covered on the 31.4 percent price adjustment. Of these, the Inspiron 13 costs the same $685.31 as its XPS 13 comrade while also sporting slightly better specs. Powering this notebook is a Core i7 Skylake chip that works hand-in-hand with an 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD. There is also the 13.3-inch FullHD display as well. The Inspiron 13, on the other hand, ships for $999 on any other day.
On the other hand, the Inspiron 15 is the cheapest of the lost at $513.81 post 31.4 percent discount. It arrives featuring a Core i5 Skylake chip and works along with an 8 GB RAM and 1 TB HDD. As its name implies, the laptop also comes with a 15.5-inch FullHD display and is the only one in the lot that is armed with Intel RealSense 3D camera, compatible with Windows Hello feature.
The Verge noted that along with the Pi Day deals, Microsoft has also revealed its new spring sale that will start tomorrow. There will be a $100 discount on some Surface Pro 4 models, and up to 50 percent off to a number of PCs and laptops.
In related news, Dell is also offering the XPS 13 Developer Edition which comes preinstalled with Ubuntu 14.04. Nevertheless, the prices start at a quite hefty $1,549.99 with matching specs to boot. This includes Core i7 chips coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage.
There are even more powerful versions that are also available though which is priced $1,949.99. For that amount of money, consumers will get to have computing nirvana brought by a Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 of SSD storage.
For the consumers and buyers they have to keep in mind that Microsoft's spring deals run until stocks last. Meanwhile, the special Pi Day discounts on Dell laptops are only available today.
