Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales now in post-production; Kaya Scodelario discusses character details

Captain Jack Sparrow is headed for another adventure and will try to find a mythical trident in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The Maze Runner star Kaya Scodelario also spilled details about her role in the fifth installment of the franchise.

Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is taking progress in post-production as revealed by director Joachin Ronning in his Instagram Post. According to Christian Post Ronning revealed that they are near to closing in on the post-production stage but remained tight-lipped on questions directed to him regarding the movie.

The fifth film sees the return of Jack Sparrow as he goes head to head with Captain Salazar who returns from the Devil's Triangle now aiming to exact his revenge by killing every pirate at sea including Jack Sparrow. Plot speculations suggest that the new movie could focus more on the new nemesis who will be played by Javier Bardem, although, it is yet to be confirmed or denied.

Another new comer, Kaya Scodelario, has revealed details on her character. As reported by Movie News Guide, Scondelario will play the role of an astronomer named Carina Smyth. Like Jack Sparrow, Carina Smyth will also seek to find the Trident of Poseidon to help her on her agenda to be given the permission to attend a university.

According to Master Herald the film will center on Jack Sparrow who will search for the mythical Trident of Poseidon to help him fight against the evil Captain Salazar. The trident is believed to give its possessor the total control over the seas.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is directed by Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg, from screenplay written by Jeff Nathanson. It also sees the return of Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Stephen Graham as Scrum and newcomer Brenton Thwaites as Henry. It is set to hit theaters in May 26, 2017.
