Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update to LG V10 Now Rolling Out in Turkey and South Korea

By

The LG V10 handsets in Turkey and South Korea have started receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware update. The newest Android version made by the biggest search engine company is anticipated to bring new features and enhncements to the smartphone.

According to Android Authority, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been spotted rolling out for the LG V10 handsets in Turkey this week. The update comes with the build number MRA58K, software version V20b, and weighs in at a hefty 800MB. With this, owners of the smartphone are advised to connect their LG V10 on a stable Wi-Fi network for downloading. The software will upgrade the V10 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which isn't quite the latest as the 6.0.1 version has now been released.

The said Android Marshmallow firmware is expected to bring new features and enhancements to the LG V10 handsets. Phone Arena noted that LG has brought most of the software's stock functionality to the phablet. This basically include the power-saving Doze Mode, Direct Share, new app settings and permissions, modified silent mode, and dynamic automatic brightness adjustment, among other things. Also, with the new Marshmallow upgrade, the QMemo+ has been renamed to Capture+ while the LG Bridge is now known as LG AirDrive.

Additionally, upon updating to Android 6.0 Marshmallow software, the Knock Code now requires as many as 6 taps in at least 3 different corners of the screen to work. With this, users may have to learn a new, more complex pattern that takes more time and opens more room for error and mistake for the ones attempting to open their handsets.

Furthermore, Android Geeks stated that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for LG V10 is being rolled out to users in phases. This means that it would take a while until it spreads to all V10 users as the ETA varies with phone model, region, and carrier.

Usually, when the user's smartphone becomes eligible to receive the update, a message would appear in the notifications panel letting them know that a new firmware update is pending. Then, they just have to tap on it, choose Download now, wait until the download is completed, then select Install now. After that, the device would reboot and install the new firmware.

As the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is now imminent for LG V10 in Turkey and South Korea, this may indicate that the global release of the software is just around the corner. Moreover, for those who won't receive any notification, they can always manually check by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update.
