Prior to the launch of Xiaomi's flagship smartphone, Mi 5, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016, the Chinese tech company has announced its mid-ranged specs handset first called Xiaomi Mi 4s.
According to Tech Times, the Xiaomi Mi 4s is the new version of the 2014 Xiaomi Mi 4. This handset aims to bring a small upgrade on its previous model. This 5-inch smartphone runs the MIUI 7 that is based on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It boasts a full HD IPS display that has a pixel resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 and a pixel density of 441ppi.
As for the processor, the Mi 4s is engineered with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 that is coupled with an Adreno 418 GPU and a 3 GB of RAM. It supports dual-SIM and offers an internal storage of 64 GB. One of the Mi 4s' most notable specs is the microSD card expansion support, which somewhat gives it an edge against the Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi 4c and Xiaomi Mi 4i .
The Xiaomi Mi 4s is armed with a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera which comes illuminated by a dual tone LED flash. In contrast with the Mi 4, the Mi 4s' front snapper has been downgraded to 5-megapixel. In addition, the new smartphone has a larger battery of 3,260 mAh, which is also non-removable.
International Business Times also note that the new device features a very slim design, measuring 139.26 x 70.76 x 7.8 mm and weighing 133 grams (4.6 ounces). The backside of the device houses a fingerprint scanner and it is also armed with an infrared sensor.
For connectivity options, the smartphone supports 4G with VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and USB Type-C. However, this handset lacks NFC connectivity. Its huge battery pack carries support for Quick Charge 2.0 from Qualcomm. According to Indian Express, the Xiaomi Mi 4s will soon be available in black, white, gold and pink variants.
Xiaomi Mi 4s is tagged at Yuan 1699, which comes to Rs 17,820. The smartphone will hit the Chinese market shelves on March 1, but it's not yet clear if it will be available in India as well.
