'John Wick 2', officially titled 'John Wick: Chapter 2', is an upcoming action-thriller film directed by Chad Stahelski. It is intended as the follow-up to 2014's film of the same name. Leading man Keanu Reeves called the new film "third degree black belt" and showed off his insane gun skills during target practice.
According to IGN, Reeves likened the second installment in the action franchise a "third degree black belt" film in comparison to the first film, which he merely called "a black belt". Reeves, who plays the titular assassin forced out of retirement, just wrapped up filming 'John Wick 2' with director Chad Stahelski.
The 51-year old actor revealed that the sequel will attempt to expand the John Wick mythology. He said, "For us it was just what is the next chapter? What is the continuation of this story? Opening up the world - the underground world. The world behind the world in terms of the assassins... It's such a fun project and a great character."
According to Games Radar, the upcoming film will introduce brand new characters including one of 'The Matrix' co-star Laurence Fishburne. Reeves hinted, "Laurence has this fantastic role as a character in the Underworld called The Bowery King. He plays such a great character in the piece and he brings of course humour, intelligence, charisma and fascination - he's such an incredible actor and it was a pleasure to work with him again."
Reeves and Fishburne are joined by Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Ruby Rose, Peter Stormare, John Leguizamo and Common.
Meanwhile, new footage of Reeves training for his role has emerged. In the video posted on Entertainment Weekly, Reeves is seen in a gun training facility with Taran Tactical Innovations where he had to move through target dummies with precision and accuracy. The 37-second video proved that the actor could handle himself with firearms and that he did his own stunts.
