'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2' is a planned spy-adventure film starring Taron Egerton as the spy recruit Eggsy Unwin. The sequel is set to feature Julianne Moore as the new main villain.

According to Den of Geek, Moore is currently in talks to play the latest main antagonist in the second installment in the spy-action comedy series based on the comic book 'The Secret Service', created by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. The Academy Award-winner is set to join Taron Egerton, who plays lead protagonist Eggsy Unwin. Samuel L. Jackson portrayed the main villain Valentine in the preceding film.

It was reported that Moore is likely to sign up despite her crowded schedule of upcoming projects. The 55-year old actress has appeared in numerous feature films, television series as well as television movies. She has received various accolades throughout her career in the entertainment industry including an Academy Award and Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for 'Still Alice'.

According to IGN Africa, Matthew Vaughn will return to helm the sequel but this has not been confirmed as of the present. Mark Strong may return as agent Merlin but it is yet to be confirmed as well. Some rumors of Colin Firth returning as agent Galahad for a flashback scene have also emerged.

Egerton, who was first introduced as a rebellious young teenager turned reluctant spy recruit, will rejoin the new cast as Gary "Eggsy" Unwin. The breakout star took cares not to spoil the new plot but revealed that the upcoming film will be a much "international" story. He said, "There's a script, it's brilliant. Obviously there's only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot [the first] one all in the U.K., that won't be the case with the next one... It's a far more international story, we're going to some incredible places."

According to Comicbook, Egerton took to Twitter to express his enthusiasm over 'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2'. The 26-year old Welsh actor won the Empire Award for Best Male Newcomer as well as nominations for BAFTA Rising Star Award as well as Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie: Breakout Star. He also starred in Brian Helgeland's crime thriller 'Legend' as well as Dexter Fletcher's biographical sports drama film 'Eddie the Eagle'.

'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2' is a planned sequel to the action-spy adventure film of the same name released in 2014. It is scheduled to be released on June 16, 2017 and will be directed by Matthew Vaughn.
