'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film written and directed by Rian Johnson. Potential titles for the eighth installment have emerged online. It was speculated that its plot will follow Luke Skywalker's mission to start a new Jedi Order with Rey.

According to NME, potential titles for the upcoming eighth installment in Disney and Lucasfilms' 'Star Wars' cinematic series have leaked online. Rian Johnson's follow up to J.J. Abrams' 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens' is slated to hit theaters on December 15, 2017 but several sources have already begun pitching different titles for it.

One source revealed on Reddit that 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' will be entitled 'Star Wars: Tale of the Jedi Temple'. Another source from a Croatian fan site suggested 'Star Wars: The Order of the Dark Side'. Both titles are considered plausible since they reference Luke Skywalker's search for the first ever Jedi temple as well as Kylo Ren's The First Order, respectively.

Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, revealed that 'Episode VIII' will pick up immediately where 'Episode VII' ended, according to /Film. Her character was introduced in the 2015 release as a scavenger abandoned as a child on the desert planet of Jakku, who is searching for her family.

Ridley admitted that working with Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker in the franchise, has been exciting. She said, "Me and Mark have been rehearsing a lot, and it's really amazing. When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of [Episode] VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people. He's amazing to rehearse with, and I'm very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff. It's such a good story... Luke is so cool in this one."

It was speculated that Rey is primed to become one of the series' newest lead protagonists together with other new characters such as Finn and Poe. According to Moviepilot, the eighth 'Star Wars' film will follow Luke and Rey's mission of creating a new Jedi Order following the search for the Jedi temple as well as other ancient Jedi relics. It was speculated that Luke will take Rey under his wing, training her to become a Jedi knight.

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film written intended as the sequel to J.J. Abrams' 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens'. It is scheduled to be released on December 15, 2017.
