The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) may be tentatively released on June 17. The mid-range Samsung phone is said to launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.

Samsung could release the Galaxy J5 2016 soon as the device gets Bluetooth SIG certification along with the Galaxy J7 (2016). International Business Times reported that the tentative launch date for the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is set on June 17 this year.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) is the successor to the J-series, a downgraded version of the company's A-series. The J5 (2016) was seen on Zauba website sporting the build number SM-J510FN. Its final price may be higher than the amount recorded on the website which was Rs 17,031. The J5 (2016) was exported to India from South Korea to undergo testing.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to be the operating system for the Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016). However, a report from GFXBench said that the J5 (2016) will run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop instead.

Leaks revealed that the J5 (2016) will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, 2GB RAM, and Adreno 306 GPU under the hood. Design-wise, the phone is rumored to sport a plastic body and a 5.2-inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It will rely on a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front shooter for capturing photos and videos.

The J5 (2016) will launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016). According to Tech Times, the J7 (2016) has also received FCC certification and will be released shortly. A Geekbench listing showed that the J7 will tout an Exynos 7870 chipset and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. However, another conflicting report from GFXBench said that the J7 (2016) will come with Snapdragon 615 processor.

Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) may be equipped with microSD card slots for storage expansion. It might also have a built-in fingerprint scanner.

Rumors saying that the J7 (2016) will have a large 4,300 mAh battery were reportedly false, as per Phone Arena. The J7's FCC certification showed that the device will house a 3,300 mAh battery that can last for 2 days on normal usage.

The rumored battery of the J7 (2016) is bigger than that of its predecessor. The phone is said to sport similar cameras as the Galaxy J5 (2016).
