Google Nexus 6 on Verizon Receives Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Security Patches

Verizon Wireless has released a new Android security patches today its Google Nexus 6 units. The software update is promised to optimize device performance, resolve know issues and bring on top of the up-to-date security patches.

Google Nexus 6 phones under Verizon Wireless have been around with Android 6.0 Marshmallow since last year when the company first released the latest software. The update comes with software version MMB29V.

Marshmallow update for security patches will only take around 6 to 10 minutes to download the software and another 6 to 10 minutes to install it. Before proceeding with the actual download and installation process, Verizon has noted to connect Nexus 6 to a Wi-Fi network first or a strong Verizon signal. Additionally, make sure that the battery is fully charged and has enough space for the software. The update can also be download and installed while roaming via Wi-Fi network.

If the carrier has not notified the device for the update through over-the-air (OTA) roll out, navigate the process manually by going to Settings > About phone > System updates. Follow on screen instructions. When download is done, device will pop up a message that a new software is ready for installation. Just tap Install Now and follow on screen notifications.

If Verizon is able to notify a device automatically that the update is ready, just tap Install Now to proceed. Then follow manual navigation steps given. Tap Restart & Install. The device shall reboot and installation will begin.

With Verizon, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update carried a major features and greater controls for the device. Marshmallow's new features include battery saver called Doze and Now on Tap. It also has better volume controls and sharing.

Marshmallow has been deemed the best and most refined software in Android history yet. Alongside Nexus 6, it was first rolled out to Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus 5 and Nexus Player.
