Verizon Wireless had finally released the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update last March 1. The update brought promising tweaks to the controversial device, but how was the update so far?
Droid Turbo 2 phones of Motorola has been stirring quiet a noise lately for experience device problems said to be brought by both software and hardware issues. Despite it being an impressive device for its shockproof ability and long-standing battery performance, Verizon Wireless and Motorola had been bombarded by backlashes for not being able to address the issue head on.
However, as everyone may see it, two days after the kickoff release of Marshmallow on the device seemed to be quiet impressive by far. Although Motorola did not promise to offer killer additions to what Android 6.0 has to offer, the device manufacturer still managed to bring on the table notable tweaks to its native features that would certainly be helpful to Droid Turbo 2 owners.
Like any other update, the carrier promised that the update will optimize device performance, resolve known issues and apply latest security patches. It is also aimed at providing better mobile experience with new battery-smart features and improved app permissions which will give users more control.
Along with the original set of Android 6.0 Marshmallow features, Motorola also offers Moto Display, Moto Assist and Attentive Display to bring user experience to a new level.
Motorola ditched Ambient Display for Moto Display. Users formerly on Ambient Display have been moved to the new version. To launch the feature, just tap the Moto app > tap icon on the top right corner of the screen > Display. Then tap the switch button at the top.
Moto Assist meanwhile encompasses more areas on the device. It now includes Do Not Disturb and Driving and Places modes. Keep Quiet and Play Music have been replaced by such.
Attentive Display has been integrated into Moto Actions. To enable or disable this feature, go to the Moto app > tap the icon on the top right corner of the screen > Actions > Attentive Display. This feature runs in battery saver mode, automatically reducing light on screen.
Marshmallow also comes with Now on Tap, Doze mode, app standby, app permissions, app links, expandable storage, simpler volume controls, Direct Share and more.
