Sony Mobile has unveiled its Xperia X smartphones during the recently concluded Mobile World Congress last month. The Xperia X and Xperia XA are reportedly now available for pre-order in the UK.
According to Phones Review, the Xperia X smartphone line-up include the Sony Xperia XA that is armed with mid-range specs, the regular Xperia X which comes next, and the range is currently topped by the Sony Xperia X Performance. Two of which are now available for pre-order but unluckily, the X Performance might never make it to a UK release.
That leaves the Sony Xperia X and XA, and now one UK online retailer has reportedly opened pre-orders for these Xperia handsets. MobileFun lists the unlocked SIM-free price of the Xperia X with 32GB of internal storage at £529 while the 16GB Xperia XA is tagged much lower at £249. Both of these smartphones are only on sale in the black color option as of the moment. Even if, these gadgets are now available for pre-order, the retailer has not given any expected arrival date for either of the two devices.
As noted before, Sony Xperia X arrives featuring a 5-inch Full HD display, a little smaller compared to the flagship Z5. This may be the reason why the handset feels a little more slender and comfortable to hold. It also sports Triluminos and X-Reality technologies from Sony which both can be seen in the flagship devices.
As for its camera department, this handset is armed with a 23-megapixel rear sensor, the same sensor offered by Z5. It delivers sensitivity of up to ISO 12800 just like the flagship, and there are also 5x Clear Image Zoom on board. The Japanese tech company also introduced a feature called Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, wherein the camera will predict and track motion to make sure users will never miss a moment. On the front of the X, one can find a 13-megapixel sensor that offers sensitivity of up to 6400. It has a 22mm wide-angle lens and auto focus too.
The Sony Xperia X is engineered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor that is supported by a 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There is also microSD support for storage expansion.
Sony is known for offering good battery life on its handsets and it seems like the Xperia X will also follow the trail. There is a 2,620mAh battery under the chassis, which is only slightly smaller than the Z5. The Japanese tech company also claims it will offer two days battery life with the help of its software. The Xperia X also offers Hi-Res audio support and there is a digital noise cancelling on board as well.
Meanwhile, the Xperia XA is an entry-level handset that is powered by a MediaTek MT6755 processor rather than a Snapdragon chip. As it is armed with 720p display and 16GB storage, Sony's description of this gadget is a super mid-range device. Nevertheless, this handset is packed with a 2GB RAM and 13MP/8MP snappers.
Additionally, Vine Report stated that during the Xperia X smartphones launch in Barcelona Spain, Hiroki Totoki, President and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications, said the company will continue to create increasingly personalized and intelligent products and services that empower users to do more, and live more creatively than ever. He added that Sony's products and services will connect users to each other and become essential and beloved parts of their lives. In line with the company's continued passion for technology, it will reportedly continue adding new and exciting features to modify its smartphones. At the same time, it also wanted to change how owners of the devices access information and interact with friends and family in a closer, natural and more meaningful way.
As the Sony Xperia X and Xperia XA is already available for pre-orders, Sony patrons can now place their orders so that they could have one on their hands soon. Nevertheless, the shipping date is not yet confirmed, meaning they will have to wait for further announcements.
