‘Green Lantern Corps’ Update: Superhero won’t be featured until Justice League Part 2; D.B. Woodside takes interest on the role

The DC Cinematic Universe is quickly expanding as the studio announces more characters joining their slate of movies and the latest is Green Lantern. With Batman V Superman featuring a number of superheroes, many are thinking if the ring-slinger superhero would also make an appearance in the movie. Meanwhile, 'Lucifer' actor D.B. Woodsides shows interest on the John Stewart role.

Fans who have been waiting to see Green Lantern in Batman V Superman might get disappointed. According to IGN, Charles Roven, producer of BVS, revealed that Green Lantern may not appear until the Justice League: Part 2.

It is known that Warner Bros. have already announced a Green Lantern Corps due in 2020 and many were thinking of seeing the emerald crusader on the big screen once Justice League: Part One premieres.

Roven said "Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there's the possibility that he may or may not be in Justice League 2." He added that they're introducing enough characters in the form of the Flash, Batman, Aquaman, Superman and Wonderwoman and tat the best possible place to have the green superhero's appearance is in the second part of Justice league.

Meanwhile, Comic Book reported that Greg Silverman, the President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros., have indicated statements regarding Green Lantern. "Green Lantern is an incredible character. He's actually multiple incredible characters. There's real opportunity there," the head honcho said. Silverman then focused on the bust film of 2011's Green Lantern which he believes should be treated the way Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are treated right now. Nonetheless, he told the fans that they should be patient, promising that the studio will make them happy.

Moreover, actor D.B. Woodside is taking interest on getting the role of John Stewart. Hit Flix wrote that the 'Lucifer' actor has hinted this at the San Diego Comic- Con, saying he'd love to take the role of Green Lantern. He emphasized that it would be a fascinating opportunity.

Green Lantern is the upcoming spin-off film of DC that would feature Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Warner Bros. haven't released any specifics on the movie yet other than casting Dan Amboyer as Hal Jordan and getting a planned theatrical date for Green Lantern Corps in 2020. Nonetheless, DC's latest film, Batman V Superman, is hitting theaters on March 25, 2016 while Justice League Part One is scheduled on 2017.
