Trailing the release of OnePlus flagship smartphones, the Chinese tech company is bound to release another device this coming June named OnePlus 3. The handset will sport a whole new design as confirmed by OnePlus' Co-Founder, Carl Pei.
According to Youth Health Magazine, Pete Lau made an announcement during the SURGE tech conference confirming that the OnePlus 3 is expected to arrive in June. It was noted that OnePlus One was released on June 2014 while OnePlus 2 was unveiled on July 2015 and released on August 2015. Therefore, the launch of OnePlus 3 may well be predicted to fall in the same months.
Another report also ratified that a June launch might be reasonable as it highlighted the same statement from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. He stated that OnePlus 3 will be out at the end of the next quarter, which is definitely June 2016.
Aside from the June release, International Business Times noted that Pei also revealed that the OnePlus 3 will feature a new design. This will be in contrast with the OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 sharing the same design philosophy.
Pei assured that the company's patrons and consumers will be captivated by the OnePlus 3. He added that the U.S. will be very important for the company this year and confirmed that the device will be sold as an unlocked variant in the U.S. and other regions.
Although the company executive did not spill details on the specs, OnePlus 3 is believed to be much enhanced with a Snapdragon 820 processor. This handset is also expected to arrive in two variants: one with a 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage and the other with a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. OnePlus 3 might be armed with CyanOgenOS for its operating system, which is based on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 version.
For the camera department, OnePlus 3 will reportedly have a 13 megapixels rear-facing snapper while its front shooter would be of 5 megapixels. Display wise, the newest flagship phone from OnePlus is predicted to have a 5.2 inch Quad HD. A removable battery and microSD support for memory expansion are also slated to be included.
When it comes to the price, Crossmap reported that there are still no available details yet. Nevertheless, there are talks saying that the OnePlus 3 will most likely be released at no more than $350. This has not been confirmed yet, but since OnePlus is known for its high-end specs and affordable price, it is somewhat safe to conclude that the OnePlus 3 might be tagged in that range.
If OnePlus plays their cards right on their next device, the company could expect a leap on its sales especially when it hit the US market shelves. Hopefully, this device would be well received by the consumers just like its first flagship OnePlus One.
