'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Episode 17 airs March 16; Abducted Derek to die in 'The Sandman'?

Former series regular Paget Brewster returns as a guest star in "Criminal Minds" Season 1 to reprise role as Agent Emily Prentiss. Also, CBS has released the official plot description of episode 17 'The Sandman' and the recap of last week's episode 'Derek' is made available for fans who have missed to watch it.

Former series regular Paget Brewster officially signs in to return as guest star in "Criminal Minds" Season 11. According to TV Line, the 46-year-old American actress will reprise her role as Agent Emily Prentiss. Brewster's recurring character will enter the scene along with her Stateside friends in an upcoming springtime episode as she helps The BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) catch an international serial killer.

As for the official plot synopsis of episode 17, Spoilers Guide notes, "The BAU heads to Wichita in search of an UnSub (Unknown Subject) abducting children while their parents sleep. Also, Derek Morgan (Shemar Moore) tries to find who was responsible for his attack."

For a quick recap of "Criminal Minds" Season 1 previous episode 16 "Derek", Gossip and Gab reported that Derek Morgan was abducted by a group of mysterious men and the BAU made an immediate move to save him. At the BAU, Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson), Doctor Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau (A.J. Cook), and David Rossi (Joe Mantegna) searched for clues about Derek's location with the help of Savannah Hayes (Rochelle Aytes).

Derek was being tortured and is being beaten up by one of the guys who held him as captive. Because of that, Derek was having hallucinations and he used those thoughts to endure the pain as much as he can.

"Criminal Minds" Season 1 Episode 17 is entitled as "The Sandman". The forthcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. exclusively on CBS.

"Criminal Minds" is an American police procedural crime drama TV series created by Jeff Davis. The series is set primarily at the FBI's BAU based in Quantico, Virginia.
