Android 6.0 Marshmallow started rolling out to more Motorola devices. The update is available for Motorola Droid Turbo 2 by Verizon and for Moto G (2014) handsets in the U.S.

Motorola fans may now get a taste of Marshmallow, as the latest software update rolls out to more Moto devices. Verizon Wireless announced in its website that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is currently available for the Motorola Droid Turbo 2. The carrier said that the Marshmallow update has been tested to fix problems and maximize performance. The update also bundles the latest Android security patches.

According to Verizon, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update brings a lot of useful goodies to the Droid Turbo 2. These include several battery-saving features, like Doze and App Standby, improved app permissions, Google Now on Tap, expandable internal storage via microSD, and Direct Share. The update provides users more control on their devices for better performance and privacy.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Review reported that several Moto G (2014) smartphones in the U.S. have also received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Last month, Marshmallow hit 2nd-gen Moto devices in Brazil and India. However, the update for U.S. Moto G (2014) phones offers security patches of January.

The 3rd-gen version of the Moto G has received Marshmallow along with December security patches. It was reported that Marshmallow has not reached the Moto G European dual-SIM variant yet.

According to International Business Times, it seems that the Marshmallow rollout for the Droid Turbo 2 is only a soak test for the device. On the other hand, the first Android Marshmallow factory image with build number MPH24.49-18_18 is now available and can be flashed in the Moto X Pure Edition.

Motorola's Moto 360 smartwatch has been reported to run on the latest Android Wear 1.4 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The 6.0.1 update is a minor upgrade for Marshmallow containing several enhances and bug fixes.
