"Teen Wolf" heartthrob Tyler Hoechlin is joining the sexy ensemble of "Fifty Shades Darker," starring opposite lead stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.
Tyler Hoechlin will appear as Boyce Fox, the first author Anastasia Steele signs at Christian Grey's new publishing firm Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP), MTV News reported. Although Fox does not have any particular appearance or participation in the books, the character will be expanded in the movie. Perhaps he might play a role in Ana and Christian's heated romance.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James made the casting announcement through Twitter. In response, 28-year-old Hoechlin said he is "happy and honored" to be part of the team.
The "Teen Wolf" actor will join "Fifty Shades Darker" newbies Bella Heathcote ("Pride and Prejudice and Zombies"), Kim Basinger ("L.A. Confidential"), Eric Johnson ("The Knick") and Arielle Kebell ("The Vampire Diaries").
Bella Heathcote will play Christian Grey's ex-girlfriend Leila. To prepare for her role, the 28-year-old Australian beauty has gone from blonde to full brunette, according to the Daily Mail.
Lead stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey, respectively.
In a previous interview, 26-year-old Dakota Johnson revealed that filming "Fifty Shades Darker" was a lot more challenging than she expected.
"The story goes to an interesting place and it's more of a thriller with new characters, which will be nice," Dakota hinted, as quoted by Movie Pilot.
Although it has been revealed that "Fifty Shades Darker" will not follow the book to the very details of it, the original plot sees Ana and Christian's relationship deepens as it goes through some challenges, particularly with the involvement of Jack Hyde, Christian Grey's known rival and Ana's boss, and the comeback of Christian's past loves. The book setting begins three days after the end of "Fifty Shades of Grey."
James Foley will direct the remaining "Fifty Shades" sequels, replacing former director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
"Fifty Shades Darker" has been set for a Feb. 10, 2017 release date.
