‘Finding Dory’ gets four adorable teaser posters from Pixar featuring Dory playing hide-and-seek; Toys hint at more new characters, plot

'Finding Dory' is an upcoming animated adventure-comedy film featuring Dory the blue tang. The film recently released four new posters of the titular character playing hide-and-seek. Movie merchandise also hinted at more new characters as well as more plot clues.

New teaser posters for the upcoming sequel to 2003's 'Finding Nemo' were recently released by Pixar Animation Studios. Dory, an amnesiac blue tang who became one of Marlin and Nemo's friends in the original film, will be the new focus of the story. The new images posted by First Showing featured Dory peeking out from various aquatic life including jellyfish, seaweed, corals and stingrays.

Ellen DeGeneres returns to voice the titular forgetful yet lovable sea creature. In the film's new plot, her character will go on an adventure to find her long-lost family. It will take place six months after the events of its predecessor and will be set off the coast of California.

According to /Film, Dory suddenly recalls her childhood memories after it was triggered by a traumatic event. After remembering something about "the jewel of Monterey, California", she sets out to be reunited with her family and eventually arrives at the Monterey Marine Life Institute where she meets a host of brand new characters including a beluga whale, and octopus and a whale shark.

DeGeneres is joined by an ensemble cast including Albert Brooks as Marlin, Hayden Rolence as Nemo, Diane Keaton as Dory's mother, Eugene Levy as Dory's father, Ty Burrell as Bailey the beluga whale, Kaitlin Olson as Destiny the whale shark, Willem Dafoe as Gil the Moorish idol and Ed O'Neill as Hank the octopus. Idris Elba, Michael Sheen and Dominic West will also be lending their voices to yet unnamed characters.

Toy company Monogram International debuted its line of merchandise modeled after the characters for the upcoming 'Finding Dory Film'. According to Stitch Kingdom, it released collectible keychains at the recent New York International Toy Fair that took place on February 13, 2016.

Dory and the rest of the gang were featured as well as some yet unknown characters including a sea otter and a sea lion. No further details were revealed regarding these.

Meanwhile, Japanese toy and videogame company Bandai Co., Ltd. also released two audio toys including one of Dory complete with a tag on her fin. This tag may be a hint of what's to become to Dory in the new film.

'Finding Dory' is an upcoming animated adventure-comedy film intended as a sequel to 'Finding Nemo' first released in May 2003. It is written and directed by Andrew Stanton and is produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. It is scheduled to be released on June 17, 2016.
