'Five Nights at Freddy's' gets creepy toys from companies such as Funko and McFarlane Toys that feature characters such as Freddy Fazbear. Creator Scott Cawthon also recently apologized for his latest faulty video game.

According to Bleeding Cool, toy company Funko released its newest prototypes modelled after the infamous animatronics in Scott Cawthon's original online video game series. The toy line featured characters such as Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie and Chica.

Funko will be officially be releasing the new set of toys this May. It is yet unknown if these characters will be appearing in Gil Kenan's upcoming full-feature film adaptation of the same name.

According to another article by the Bitbag, McFarlane Toys have also joined in the bandwagon. MacFarlane Toys' CEO Todd McFarlane said that their detailed action figures are meant to be both creepy and cute at the same time. The collectibles will be made available in Walmart although it remains unknown whether these may be purchased anywhere else.

The highly popular indie point-and-shoot horror series currently consist of four games. 'Five Nights at Freddy's' was first released on August 2014 and quickly became Desura's top-selling game. It was well received by critics and fans alike and eventually spawned three more sequels, with the last one released on July 2015.

Game developer and creator Scott Cawthon was criticized for releasing his games too close to each other. The latest release, 'Five Nights at Freddy's World', came out earlier than its scheduled February 19 release and was hounded with complaints over missing features and bugs.

According to Movie News Guide, Cawthon recently apologized to fans saying that he admitted to launching the new game too soon. He issued an open letter stating that he will be launching an improved version in the next coming weeks.

He wrote, "You know, I've been accused of rushing my games ever since FNaF 1, but I've never felt that I'd released a game too early... until now... I got too eager to show the things that were finished, that I neglected to pay attention to the things that weren't... So I say this to a community that I've enjoyed and respected for over a year and a half now - I'm sorry. I will continue to add features to the game and make it right."

Meanwhile, Kenan is reportedly hard at work for the upcoming film adaptation. Although details remain scarce, the filmmaker revealed that he will be using real animatronics for the characters as opposed to special effects. He also said that the film's plot will make use of the games' mythology but may have an original story.

'Five Nights at Freddy's' is a planned big-screen adaptation of Scott Cawthon's popular point-and-click survival game featuring evil animatronics. Gil Kenan of 'Monster House' fame is set to direct the upcoming film.
