'Fifty Shades Darker' is an erotic drama film directed by James Foley. Filming has officially begun in Vancouver. Lead actress Dakota Johnson teased that she may finally get her co-star Jamie Dornan more naked in the sequel.

According to the Irish Examiner, filming for the second installment in the erotic-drama film based on E.L. James' bestselling novels of the same name has officially commenced in Vancouver. James Foley of 'House of Cards' fame has stepped in to helm the sequel to Sam Taylor-Johnson's blockbuster hit first released in February 2015.

Principal photography on the film was announced by author E.L. James on her Instagram account. She posted an image from the filming set captioned, "Day one #FSD Good luck to all the cast and crew". Dakota Johnson returns as the lead female protagonist Anastasia "Ana" Steele. Co-star Jamie Dornan is reprising his role as the infamous Christian Grey as well.

Johnson gained international fame for her role in the first film, 'Fifty Shades of Grey', where she earned the People's Choice Award for Favorite Dramatic Actress. She had her on-screen debut in 1999 for the comedy-drama 'Crazy In Alabama' starring her mother Melanie Griffith. She also worked on several films such as '21 Jump Street', 'Need for Speed', 'The Five-Year Engagement' and the most recent 'How To Be Single' with comedienne Rebel Wilson.

According to Metro, the sequel will be much sexier and darker compared to its predecessor. During an interview with Andy Cohen, Johnson revealed that she would share more nude scenes with her male co-star soon enough. She teased, "I'll probably get in trouble for this question. Yeah, I'm going to get him fully naked in the next one."

Another article by Moviepilot revealed that Kim Basinger, Arielle Kebbel and Bella Heathcote have officially signed in to play Elena Lincoln a.k.a. Miss Robinson, Gia Matteo and Leila Williams, respectively in 'Fifty Shades Darker'. The three characters are reportedly well written in the original books.

The second film will follow Ana after she also broken off her steamy relationship with Christian and pursues a new career at a Seattle publishing house. The two eventually find themselves together again, where Ana faces Christian's large array of ex-lovers.

'Fifty Shades Darker' is an erotic drama film directed by James Foley based on a screenplay by Niall Leonard. It is intended as a follow up to 2015's 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. It stars Johnson, Dornan, Basinger, Matteo, Williams, Max Martini, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Rita Ora.
