‘Star Trek Beyond’ Update: Hikaru Sulu’s daughter to be featured; Idris Elba teases groundbreaking role

"Star Trek Beyond" is coming on theaters this year for another adventure full of warp drive. With this, recent updates include a classic character being brought back to join the upcoming film. Meanwhile, Idris Elba shared his thoughts about his role in this Star Trek movie.

The sequel to 2013's "Star Trek: Into Darkness" is a month away until its debut, but updates about the sequel keep making rounds on the internet mill. According to Breath Cast, actor John Cho, playing Hikaru Sulu, will be reunited with his family in the "Star Trek Beyond". Cho said that his character "has a heartache for his little baby" which could determine Demora's return. Demora is rumored to be the said Sulu's daughter and has already appeared in "Star Trek Generation" released on 1994. Though Cho revealed that there is a huge revelation about his daughter, many know that Demora followed his dad's footsteps in the 1994 film.

Meanwhile, another actor promises that his character will be very interesting and have a complex journey in the "Star Trek Beyond". Movie News Guide reported that Idris Elba could not hide his excitement for his role since it was a dream come true for him. Elba promised that his character will give a twist and charm to the audience. Elba appeared in "Star Trek III" as the man who tried to destroy the world but he's bragging that this time, he's going to have a groundbreaking role.

Furthermore, Korea Portal wrote that scriptwriter Simon Pegg revealed that the movie is full of fun and emotions. Simon Pegg is returning to the film to play the the role of Scotty. Pegg teamed up with Doug Jung to finish the script 6 months prior to the filming. Justin Lin on the other hand, was tapped to helm the anticipated sequel.

"Star Trek Beyond" is the next film in the "Star Trek" franchise. It has a stellar cast with Chris Pine reprising the role of Captain James Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock, Zoe Saldana as Lieutenant Nyota Uhura and Idris Elba as Krall. The film is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2016.
