‘New Girl’ Season 5: Cece, Schmidt at war with other couple; Series creator considers adding Megan Fox to series regular?

By

Zooey Deschanel's absence in 'New Girl' season 5 and replacing Megan Fox may have proven effective in attracting more viewership for NBC. Series creator Elizabeth Meriwether seems very happy casting Fox as she plans on getting her back for future episodes. Meanwhile, upcoming episode 8 will see Cece and Schmidt effort to rent the wedding venue they really wanted against the other unlikely couple.

'New Girl' lead actress Zooey Deschanel had to be replaced by Megan Fox while she spent time with her new born daughter. Fox appeared in the sixth episode of the show, which aired in January. In storyline reason, Jess had been assigned for jury duty, which made her not be around. While she's gone to somewhere, Reagan rented her room. Reagan, as described by the show, is a bisexual pharmaceutical sales representative briefly in town on business and who has a major impact on the stability of the loft.

Fox's appearance starting Episode 6 in 'New Girl' season 5 has a week-to-week gain in total viewership, according to Earn The Necklace. Aside from the viewership, Megan's performance on the show has been well received by the critics, as well. Lawyer Herald also cited that Jess' abscence from the show has become an advantage for other characters to step up like Winston Bishop and Cece Parekh who are able to have more storylines this season.

Apparently, series creator Elizabeth Meriwether said to Bustle that they are brainstorming how to get Megan Fox back for future episodes. This also sparked interest to avid fans that the show should also consider joining Fox to series regular, perhaps in 'New Girl' season 6. But no announcement has been made yet.

Meanwhile, upcoming episode 8 of 'New Girl' season 5 will see the struggle of Schmidt and Cece in getting the perfect wedding venue. But apart from it is expensive, a former classmate of Schmidt and fiancée also want to rent The Lisbon. But Cece will not go home without a fight. She shares some false stories to impress the attendant and get the space.
