‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 4 to expand diversity as more women coming in; Big changes expected

Viewers should expect some big changes in the upcoming 'Orange Is The New Black' season 4. Storylines will be much diverse than before as new inmates, including the celebrity chef Judy King, enter in Litchfield Penitentiary.

Many were glad when Netflix renewed the beloved series 'Orange Is The New Black' for three more seasons. The forthcoming season 4 may change the entire course of the story for most characters of the show.

Actor Yael Stone spilled some things to expect in 'OITNB' season 4 during an interview with ABC Australia. Stone, who portrays Lorna in the show, mentions that "big changes" are expected for Litchfield family. According to the actress, the show's creator Jenji Kohan is not afraid to write new things and give some twists and turns among the characters of the series.

Stone also added that the show will also expand its diversity as there are lots of women with different ages, sizes, sexual orientations and beliefs now visible in season 4. She said, "What (the show) does is pretty revolutionary. We have so many women visible in the show and not one type of woman but a lot of different types of women."

Christian Today also reports that season 4 will feature new storylines for other inmates as it premieres in June. The changes will also make the new character Judy King front and center of the season. King is the new creation of Kohan and writers. And many are now intrigued what the new character will bring to the table.

Blair Brown, who plays the role, says something about her character during the interview with Cinemablend, "She's slightly appalling and very good and very cheerful and probably fairly amoral. And it's interesting to watch because she's so other than anybody else in prison. And of course, Judy's greatest ally when she comes in is Poussey Washington."

With the new changes, a fan favorite character may be seen less in the upcoming season. According to iDigital Times, Piper will take a back seat in season 4 as she goes through some changes, which may shift her role as protagonist. Kohan also said that only time will tell as how Piper's actions will impact her relationship with Alex.
