The LG G5 launched in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 boasted new battery and camera features, making it a true Android flagship. LG is expected to release virtual reality (VR) headsets compatible with its smartphones.

One of the major highlights of the MWC 2016 currently held in Barcelona, Spain is the launch of the LG G5. According to Indian Express, the LG G5 is all about what a true Android flagship would be like. The LG G5 launched with cool new features on board - including a Slide-out battery and a camera module to instantly turn the phone into a digital camera.

LG gave the G5 a sleek, all-metal unibody and two cameras at the back. One camera has a typical 78-degree lens while the other has a 135-degree wide angle lens. The South Korean manufacturer said that the LG G5's 135-degree wide angle lens is the widest that can be found in current smartphones.

What made the LG G5 stand out were its Slide-out battery feature and Modular Type design. The new flagship's battery can be swapped out fast and easy. Users can transform the LG G5 into a standalone digital camera by inserting the LG CAM Plus module into the battery slot.

NDTV Gadgets reported that LG plans to release its own VR headset lighter than the Samsung Gear VR. The company said that the LG 360 VR headset will be operated using LG smartphones. The LG 360 VR can attach to an LG phone and perform several functions like photo and video capture.

Aside from the G5, LG also unveiled the X series and Stylus 2 mid-range smartphones. It was reported that the LG Stylus 2 will have a larger display than the LG G5. It is expected to have excellent battery life and run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

New flagships from other major smartphone manufacturers, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, were introduced at the MWC 2016. ValueWalk said that the Huawei P9 and the Xiaomi Mi 5 will debut at the MWC 2016. Xiaomi's new flagship will reportedly sport an "amazing" camera with 26 MP. The Mi 5 is said to launch with two variants.

Reports say that Lenovo will also unveil the Lemon 3 at the MWC 2016. The new Lenovo flagship is expected to tout a Snapdragon 616 chip, Android 5.1 Lollipop, and dual-SIM functionality.
